EverDrive GBA / Re: Micro SD issues with EverDrive GBA
« on: August 20, 2016, 05:04 AM »
The 2gb is the only one that works and that even took some screwing with. That one originally gave the FAT error.

Out of interest, what kind of screwing around got it to work? I have my 2GB microSD from my R4 in my ED, and that works, but the 32GB microSD I want to use gives an F6 "FAT system not found" error. This is despite me having zeroed the first 15MB or so of the disk, repartitioning, and making a FAT32 volume with what seem to be the same parameters as the card I have that works, and I am most confused. (A different microSD I have of the same type gives me the D3 error that I assume most people in this thread are referring to, even if an error code is rarely explicitly mentioned.)

Perhaps I shouldn't read too much into the different error message and it's actually the same problem, just behaving slightly differently.
My husband said he took the formatting advice from the first few posts on this thread.

I'd love ones for the Atari Lynx, NGPC, Atari (2600, 5200, 7800,) Colecovision, Intellivision, & Virtual Boy. This is all daydreaming though. If they become a reality, I would be throwing my money on them instantly.

I found a card that finally friggin works and holds 99% of the library (once I removed doubles from other regions). I took it out of my Everdrive 64 and basically just swapped the data from one to the other. Both work and I am one happy woman.

I have to ask my husband as he's the technical one and had to partition it a certain way I believe. When he gets back from work I can ask him to chime in.

I got my everdrive yesterday and am facing the same IO error many of you are facing. Here are the cards I was trying to use. The 2gb is the only one that works and that even took some screwing with. That one originally gave the FAT error. All cards are 100% legitimate.

EverDrive 64 / Re: looking to buy an everdrive 64 have questions

I think the Krikzz.com site has the retailers that sell the real thing. I have bought both from Krikzz and Stoneage Gamer. Stoneage Gamer is in Ohio and Krikzz is in Ukraine. I don't know how to use the cheats but your best bet would be YouTube for that.

I bought the board not long ago from Stoneage Gamer and provided my own shell and sticker.

If your Cube is modded or you have other means of running backups (SD Media Launcher), the original boot disc is no longer necessary, or even desirable. Google "gameboy interface". It is a superior solution.
Mine has the SD Media Launcher and I have the original disc but not everyone knows about it or can do it. I also know a lot of people that prefer the real things for their collections to. Modding and the SD Media Launcher are the way to go though, you're right.

Would not it be better if you buy the Game Boy Player for Nintendo Gamecube.
Finding the bootup disc is a PITA for that.

I made the logo to look like the Super Mario 64 game, hence the "Super" in the title. I'm happy to share .psd files if anyone wants.

There's literally only 20 games for it. Completely pointless and no reason to have one.
22 games and countless good homebrew titles and for that, a flash cart would be great.

You guys are insane.
Have you ever played a Virtual Boy? Emulators don't count.
