Master EverDrive / Re: sms pro action replay support
« on: May 17, 2018, 07:15 AM »
Though it doesn't answer your request (well, nothing I can do in that regard), the original Master Everdrive works just fine with an Action Replay cart, for the sake of getting cheats that way.  Couldn't tell you whether the Master Everdrive X7 will do the same, but it seems likely, given the way the SMS AR functions (as a harmless passthrough, until patching is switched on).  So there's always that option.  The Action Replay won't work on a Genesis, though, incidentally - only an SMS.

I feel like with the amount of recapping and modding of GGs that's going on these days, the number of working, in-service GGs on the gamer landscape is increasing all the time.  I hope that means a larger market for EDGGs, which justifies an EDGG X7, down the line.  I'd buy it in an instant, and I've already got an EDGG.  If the SMS X7 can happen...who knows!

Master EverDrive / Re: Card Everdrive?

I tend to agree with those dissenting voices here.  On the basis that
1) The card games already play on MED, so no features are added.
2) All Master Systems can therefore already play card games.
3) The card games are small in number and not very popular.
Of all the flashcart improvement projects I can think of (and of all the missing features and game-breaking glitches on existing flashcarts), this seems way, way off in the distance, as far as what would actually justify the work.

Never had any issues with the menu on my Framemeister here.  I'm using the dbGrafx Booster on a CoreGrafx, though.  Still, there shouldn't be any difference between the graphics modes used or the way they're handled by the system.  Very curious.

Nope.  Not without a hardware mod.

EverDrive GG / Re: Bad slowdown on some games with Everdrive

Nothing to do with the EverDrive.  GG Aleste is just fairly heavy on slowdowns, what with the ridiculous number of sprites it puts on screen.  I don't find it detrimental to gameplay, though, incidentally.

Just to offer another solution, for those experiencing this.  I had a 32GB Lexar SD Card which had been used successfully in my SD2SNES, but was giving me Error 38 after multiple formats and ensuring files were in appropriate locations and named correctly, when in use with my TurboED .
What fixed it for me was formatting the card not using Windows 10’s FORMAT command (or the Windows 10 GUI formatting dialog), but the SD Card Association’s SD Card Formatter:  Now it works just fine!

EverDrive GG / Re: Shining Force II - saving issues.
« on: May 28, 2017, 06:07 AM »
Yeah, very sad that the Shining Force games don't save on EverDrive-GG, given these are pretty much the top titles on the platform relevant to EverDrive play (given Gaiden and Final Conflict are Japan-only releases with complete ROM translations).  Unfortunately, given it's been a few years since the EverDrive-GG was updated, I'm not holding out any hope that it will be in the future.
Maybe if GG modding continues to catch on in the retro community, and demand increases.  I can see interest in GG growing over the next year.
