There are currently 5 GG games you can play on a master system (with the Master Everdrive) or on a Genesis/MD with one of those two ED models in SMS mode. This is done by IPS patching the 5 games as needed to not freak out the SMS. It's only possible on these 5 (and maybe a handful not yet converted) since their color pallets are almost fully compatible with SMS specs.

The 5 games are:
Aleste II / Power Strike II
PAC-MAN
The Berlin Wall
Frogger (Prototype)
Pop Breaker

It's not just those five games. Those were the ones converted by Chris Covell long ago, but there are more Game Gear to Master System conversions. Especially now it's becoming a trend thanks to noted Master System programmers like vingazole.

literally the first i've heard of this effort, but i'm quite happy to see it!  loved my Game Gear but god i wish we had it consolized.

I will build a switch in the system and order the Everdrive :)

Ok so I finally got around to do this, and most of the games I test are working, some have a little sparking in some places, but the biggest issues is that Gunstar Heroes will not boot.  I get the start screen, but will not boot the game.  Has anyone else had this issue?

Actually there are many more GG to MS patched games. Though most are still beta with some glitches or other problems. Playing GG Shiobi on an Master System or Sega Mega Drive is indeed cool.

Im not playing the patched Rom on the SMS, im trying to play the real game gear ROM on the game gear with a modded converter.  and I having some glitches.  I think the Master Everdrive can not handle the larger roms

I already have a modded Master Gear, and use my Master Everdrive to load Game Gear games.

Is there a way to make the loader (v7) start in Game Gear mode so the characters at the screen will be bigger? Because it starts in SMS mode even with the physical SMS/GG switch on Game Gear mode, presenting very small characters, making the screen difficult to read, and forcing me to always use the small switch to change mode after the game loads.
