AGS-001 in pair with everdrive x5/x5 mini should draw around 80mA during the game. You can look at battery life test here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-o10jkhfms
If your cart draws much more then it could be some defect. You can send it to us for replacement.

There is not need any special tricks to play sms games on everdrive + mega-sg. It should work with any combination of options and with or without bios files. I suspect that sms mode broken on your cart or on your console. The only way to check where the problem is try another console or another cart.

If japanese end European games work but only US doesn't then it must be related to bios files or to disk images. JAP/EUR games does not have any specific differences compared to US images. Also make sure that problem not related to console firmware version or console power supply. You need good usb cable and ac adapter which can supply at least 1A current

Hold start to turn off the combo.
You can remove EDN8/registery.bin file, it will drop all settings to default. It can be done right from the cartridge menu

OG N8 update problems usually related to mapper files fragmentation on sd card, especially if non windows machine was used for setup. Cart support rom files fragmentation but not mapper files fragmentation. Boot problem can not be related to OS bug or something, if previous version works fine before, because i literally just changed version number and modified fds mapper, nothing else was changed. Any parts of update is not stay installed inside of cart, everything on SD card.
Blue screen means that bootloader can not configure fpga, there can be two reasons: 1. file 255.RBF fragmentated, 2. cart is broken. Second option can be easily checked by booting cart without sd card, if it shown typical error message about sd init then fpga is ok

Are you sure that you played exact same rom on x7? I tried on x7 13mb rom with bonus tracks and it fades to black after Williams logo just like on PRO. Roms over 10mb actually shouldn't work on real hardware, because area over 10mb occupied by the system registers. Such big roms can be played only if they be designed with using SSF mapper, but they don't.

Try diagnostics menu: turn on cart without sd card, then when error screen pops up insert sd card and push select+start+a+b

Unfortunately I don't have any ideas what it could be. Сonsidering there is no mass reports about this problem i assume that problem related to your certain setup. Usually i can't provide solution if i can't reproduce the problem myself. May be if you can describe some details which could help to reproduce the problem then i will find solution.

He-he, modern flash carts is a good health test for your console (: Fortunately those graphical glitches is very specific and clearly points to the possible source of problem, usually pretty hard to say something without full diagnostics.
