FXPAK (SD2SNES) / Re: gsu (superfx) support [work in progress]
« on: April 14, 2018, 05:55 PM »
Are things working mostly close to 100% now? I noticed the releases slowed down...

The question is, when is this going to get rolled into the normal SD2SNES firmware?
Not for me. I’ve yet to be able to play a single FX game without lockup or other issues. I’m using the Smokemonster pack on a Super NT  :(
Same here, with a SuperNT. Lots of crashes and graphical glitches across all SFX games. I wonder if there's some SuperNT setting that affects things.

News / Re: Everdrive GBA OS update v1.02

I used to get a SD IO ERROR.  Now, I instead get an "ERROR: F5" and "FAT ERROR".

The card is a 32GB Samsung Evo UHS-1.

Edit: I used a Linux program "fatsort" to sort the directories and it is giving me the SD IO ERROR again....

Edit2: I saw Krikkz's comment about the bootloader screen.  Yes, I get the error at the bootloader screen.  Krikkz: Did you mean that a bootloader update would be possible except there isn't one, or did you mean that it is impossible to update the bootloader at all?

I will release bootloader update, but i should make update tool first. However, you will need sd card which can load OS to launch bootloader update

Thank you. When you have ED GBA bootloader update done, please consider updating ED GB and Mega EDv2 bootloaders as well. They also have issues with many new brand name SD Micro cards. :)

sound like the old sd card bug from EDGB OSv2 is back
The Mega Everdrive v2 has the same problems as well. Whatever code/chip Krikzz is using to handle SD Micro cards has some serious problems, and it's a real pain in the ass.

Don't Work: PNY Elite 32GB microSDHC Card with Adapter -UHS-I, U1, up to 85MB/Sec (P-SDU32U185EL-GE)

I did all my testing on v1, the version that's built into the EDGB. I don't even have a copy of v2 downloaded. I have a copy of v3 that I am now using on the only new SD micro card I bought that actually works.

I was doing all my testing with empty, freshly formatted cards. It's my understanding that because the v3 OS file is read from the SD card, any card that gives you an error with a blank card isn't going to be able to load that v3 OS file.

I tried various cluster sizes (8K, 16K, 32K) and always FAT32.

I had no issues using some small and old (ie: 4GB Class 2 though 4, non-UHS I era) cards, from SanDisk and Kingston, but it's not possible to buy cards like that anymore.

Here's my latest results. Really weird.

My EDGB is from StoneAgeGamer, so it's not a clone.

All SD cards are brand new, name brand, purchased from Amazon (NOT third party seller, themselves) so I'm not concerned about fakes. All were formatted FAT32 with a 16KB or smaller block size. I put them in a full-size SD adapter, they work perfectly in my EDN8, SD2SNES, Mega Everdrive, and ED64. The EDGB is the only Everdrive I have that gives me any trouble with SD cards that I know are name brand.
PNY Elite 32GB : FAIL 0xD3
Transcend 32GB : FAIL 0xD3
SanDisk Extreme 32GB : PASS

It stinks having to buy $40USD worth of SD cards just to find one that works. :(

Has there been any progress on this? The SFX are still all glitched. :(

Here's my test results, using the same microSD card:

US Super Gameboy: Works.
JP Super Gameboy 2: Works.
US Gameboy Advance (non-SP): Reboots into last loaded game.
US Gameboy Player on US Gamecube: Reboots into last loaded game.

Has anyone out there gotten v2 working on a non-SP GBA or the Gamecube Gameboy Player?

Mine also bootloops to the last loaded ROM when used in my GBA. Removing the GBOS.GB file lets me get back to the menus again and pick a different game.

Hi, in case you don't see my post in the other thread, do you have any way for people to donate money as thanks/incentive for more mappers? Your work is highly appreciated and I'd like to show my appreciation!

I am getting Error 23 or Error 24 for all of my FDS roms now. They all work again if I go back to OS version 9.1

Is anyone else having this problem?
