It's a clusterfuck because DD used a very obscure hacked rom "1.0" as source.
What you need to do to make it work:
- grab the no-intro rom.
- patch it with the "1.1 to hacked 1.0 ips patch" from taskforce from here:,21325.msg298774.html#msg298774
- finally use the translation patch on it.
It won't run as a real Satellaview rom (no BS interface), but at least it'll work.

Be aware that using these alternative menus, made by Ramsis for fw 1.6, break some of the new 1.7x specific features (I believe the updated config menu, and the 10-most-recent list).

Try L+R+Start+Y after you launch the game, it kills in-game routines in case they interfere with game operation.

This is getting old.
What's getting old is people like you coming in this thread to say it's no big deal.
You don't feel concerned, fine, what exactly are you doing here?

then I got used to it
good for you but for anyone used to playing nintendo systems for the past 20 years the current mapping will never feel natural and is quite an annoyance.

No-intro SNES roms don't have a header.
Seems like this patch needs one if it currently doesn't work with your no-intro rom.

Grab this :
or this :

and then using a fresh new no-intro rom, first add a header, and then patch.

What kind of argument is that? If you don't want to hear other people's opinions, what are you doing in a discussion forum? What thread I read and reply to is none of your business.
Yes not only it's none of my business, I don't give a flying fuck.
But there's no argument to be had, this is a thread requesting A & B button swapped.
If you're not concerned, pass your way stranger.

Yes, it's an inconvenience at first but it doesn't break anything. It's not like you press A and suddenly all your data is lost, you press A and nothing happens. I find it more mindblowing that some people nlow this inconvenience out of proportion by calling it "mindblowing that <whoever> hasn't fixed it yet
Apparently it's not an inconvenience enough for you to really care, fair enough.
Other people like the OP, nuu, me and a others do care.
Granted it's only a minor annoyance, but why should this go on when it would most likely take Krikzz less than a minute to fix [versus 6+ months of waiting]?

No offense, but I find it mindblowing that some people seem to make this such a bug issue. Yes, I was startled at first, too. But then I figured that its not actually an issue and particularly not one that "needs to be solved".
Since you don't seem to care [enough], what are you doing in this thread?

Going against the standard is a big issue. When all other menus uses one standard there's no reason to not do the same.
Yes, couldn't have said it better. Not only it's more intuitive/natural, it's also the standard.

saturnu: hmm did you do it for your own GBE at least, and is it working?
Or was your explanation post only theory..?

It's mindblowing to me krikzz won't address the issue.

saturnu, could you post the file(s) already patched, and ready to flash, if possible?

Like most users I find the current backwards A <> B mapping annoying AS HELL.

I have no doubts that Krikzz could do it himself in about 8 seconds if he wanted to, but since this had been requested for more than 6 months now, it's clear he has no intention of doing so.

Thank you.

Ah, you have a card reporting 0.302 / 0.537 ms avg/max in SD2SNES.
Those are actually excellent values and MSU-1 videos should be perfect with it [on a pure NTSC system at least].

I don't think you can find better card than this (0.302 / 0.537 ms avg/max ).

The issue (stuttering, out of sync..) , as felt by Ikari, is most likely due to the PAL SNES.
In this case you have 2 solutions:
1. get a pure NTSC system from JPN or USA.
2. wait for Ikari to tweak the player (msu1vid.sfc) more for PAL systems, if it's possible.

teamvb, you don't seem to get it.
For MSU-1 videos, card speed/class IS NOT THE DETERMINING FACTOR.
The important factor is the peak access time.

You can have class 10 UHS card at supersonic high speed, if they have high peak access time they will still suck for MSU-1!
Similarly, you can have class 2 cheapest card, if it's peak access time is low, it will perform perfectly.

The manufacturers don't indicate "peak access time" on their card's specifications.
Luckily Ikari has set up a page for that purpose where users can report their findings.
It can be seen here:

Hope it helps.
