Awesome work.
Who could be the anonymous coder? :P

You're right Dreimer, the confusion is because that Chinese SD2NES is NOT the pro even when it says so. It's based on the open source SD2SNES Mk2 (NOT pro, which is Mk3).

The chinese have new SD2SNES Pro
This is incorrect, the chinese product uses the word "Pro" but it isn't equivalent to the SD2SNES/FXPAK Pro.
It seems to be a variation based on some older SD2SNES Mk2, not sure which revision.

would they still be able to use native game save functions in games that allow for saves
Yes.

Similarly for Sega CD games, will it be possible to save games that supported saves, even without save state support?
This should be supported by the new MD Everdrive Pro.

EverDrive GBA / Re: Everdrive upgrade program?
« on: June 15, 2020, 08:48 AM »
There are upgrade programs sometimes but depends on where did you buy it.

Just do what I've done, buy the new one if you want it, and sell the old one online.  You won't take a massive hit on the older one either, there's always a market for these things.  Yes Stone Age did a trade-in a few times but to be honest, you could have gotten more $ reselling them.
This is the easiest solution.

When you send the package you pay postage, when Krikzz sends it back to you he pays it.

I couldn't give one iota about NES emulation.  I mean come on, seriously?  It's a SEGA console, and who here doesn't have an NES?
I agree.

Also, the menu, come on Krikzz!  Why are you using the same atrocious text-based menu in this thing?
I disagree here, less is more in my opinion.
I like the simple menu.

Lower price is probably the biggest appeal to this.
Lower price is a huge factor in my opinion.

Format your SD card as FAT32.
Then you have to unpack the zip file and copy the entire folder to the root of your SD card.

Try using an external power brick, those are hard to get for the original GBA I think.

It could be a capacitor problem, try another Gameboy if you can.

EverDrive GBA / Re: Issue with pokemon roms
« on: June 04, 2020, 12:33 AM »
The problem is you're trying a GB/GBC hacked game inside an emulator (Goomba) running on top of another "emulator" of sorts which is the Everdrive GBA. This is asking for incompatibilities.
First because the rom authors commonly make these hacks with PC emulators in mind.
Second because Goomba's emulation isn't accurate even for regular games.
And last because the only way to run GB/GBC games using the Everdrive GBA is through emulation, you can't use the GBA native GB/GBC mode like when you insert an original GB/GBC cartridge.

You *could* have better luck using the Everdrive GB on the GBA console, but I can't assure you those hacks will work through a flashcart.

Yeah most new Everdrives have proper level translation, like the Mega Everdrive X5. But what about the Master Everdrive? René says that's also a bad design...
Wait a minute, are these quotes from that old article by the french guy or from a new article (2020)?
Are we again arguing this?

Perhaps the old Gamegear had a faulty cartridge slot. I have one with a broken pin.
