I replied in PM, but it was before the latest update when I got the original non TE NBA Jam to work. It only saves after a full game (which means all four quarters). I just used a standard ROM, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't be saving.

I did notice the buzzing in Outrun (and a similar thing happened with games with the Namco sound chip on Everdrive N8) in 3.04, but was afraid to mention it due to my stupid outburst. I also feel it was rude to imply that I don't know how to hook my console correctly. I have the system hooked up via the SEGA CD stereo for the games that use it and usually switch to the native audio for non-CD games. People make mistakes!

When I tried it on my V2/X7, the normal version worked, but the version with the extra tracks didn't.

I have a JP SMS and I don't have to turn the volume up to hear the music on it. The music is definitely much quieter on the Mega Everdive than a real SMS and it's disappointing that it won't be adjusted. I also noticed a difference when using the earlier RBF file with the earlier OS, but noticed no difference when using it with the newer OS. I don't understand this "I didn't see it on my end so you're full of crap" attititude. I check things multiple times and I don't make things up.

Never mind. I had the wrong white plug in the TV (sega cd instead of Genesis AV cable). Audio definitely sounded closer to the JP SMS after using the direct audio from the Genesis and I only had to turn the TV up slightly. Sorry about that. doh.

wow, what an asshole. He gives you FM sound for free and you give him crap for it.

I seriously hope this gets you banned at least for a month.

I'm sorry I took it the wrong way, but I realized I messed up and kept what I said up before I edited the post to add the never mind because I didn't want to delete and hide the fact that I messed up. I don't purposely try to be rude, but I honestly do check things multiple times before posting and have had situations where people assumed nothing was wrong when there was something wrong. BTW, the intent of the post was to say that I don't like being treated poorly, not to treat you like service personnel or imply that you didn't do anything on your end. Anyway, I am sorry for what I said and thank you for adding FM to the Mega Everdrive.

I guess that japanese bios does not have splash screen

I have a JP SMS. There is no splash screen like with the US SMS, just a screen playing Space Harrier music in FM when no game in the system.

I've been having the same issue and I can assure you that the actual single cart of Mega Man The Wily Wars doesn't save either so it's not a Mega EverDrive issue but rather an issue with the actual game itself. Maybe that's why Krikkz hasn't commented?

It seems that Mega Man The Wily Wars has no battery back-up save feature implanted in it (at least on real hardware).

No big loss for me, I never really liked this game much to begin with, it's far too difficult and the fact that you have to sit and finish it in one whole sitting is extremely annoying.

Rockman Megaworld/Wily Wars has a save battery, it is well documented. Some repros of the game don't have a save battery. There is a working ROM of Wily Wars that saves (though the hack from Romhacking.net didn't save for me). It is also known that EU version uses EEPROM save and there are 2 JP versions, one with EEPROM and one with SRAM. SRAM saving should work as is, but the SRAM version doesn't save.

Are you sure you don't have mods?
The connector in your NES hasn't been replaced?
And you don't have scart or hdmi video output?

The power supply is original?
The contacts are clean?
What ROMs do you use?

Also could you please make few photos or video of the artificats? Thanks!

Some of these questions were answered in previous posts in this thread. It doesn't affect all systems, but many of the systems it does affect are official NES systems that weren't modded.

From the first post in this thread:

Approximately 8 out of my 10 NES I own show this issue. 2 of them don't.
Not all games exhibit this. Ones that do include Tetris title, Punch-Out while boxing
Original carts of games like Tetris and Punch-Out have no issue on any systems
Does not seem related to the wall power brick itself, likely the type of PSU
NES-CPU-6 + ALPS power board = no issue
NES-CPU-8 + Mitsumi power board = no issue
NES-CPU-10 + Mitsumi power board = ISSUE
NES-CPU-10 + ALPS power board = ISSUE (but less bad)
The problem seems to always follow the board / EVN8 combo
Recapping didn't seem to help
Not related to 72PIN connection issues, both cleaned and replaced did not help across many systems.

The latest beta firmware is 1.20b8. It's beta firmware, which means it hasn't been fully tested. 1.10 is the latest stable release.

I haven't had issues with games working that didn't also happen on the famicom (I had to delete and then redownload the directory to the SD card), but I did have artifacts show up in some games on the beta firmware, which I heard happens on some NES systems too.

15 is the latest OS for Everdrive N8 on the download page. The beta OS for AVS are still a bit buggy. While they have nice features, I ended up rolling back to the non-beta OS for AVS. Both CVIII and Akumajou Densetsu seem to work fine.

Please try to use the original NES.
AVS is made to support regular NES cartridges but not to repeat behavior of the original NES.
It works and plays carts but not in the same way as the original NES does.
That's the problem.

That's not accurate. It uses a FPGA to mimic NES behavior and is designed to be accurate to NES hardware.

I had to use the region switch on my Genesis to change the region on SMS games. There are a few games that play an alternate version depending on region and many games that don't like the Genesis controller in English mode play fine with it in Japanese mode.

This is awesome, but I wonder if it worth it for some games. The JP version of Pop 'n Twinbee barely has any text to begin with and is fully playable on US systems. The Firemen has an NTSC prototype, which is fully playable, but with a messier translation.

There are a couple games like Ice Climber, Super Mario Bros 2, and Clu Clu Land that have very little (or no) use of the expansion sound. SMB2J only uses it for the ending theme.
