EverDrive 64 / Re: Frequency not accepted into everdrive menu
« on: October 25, 2018, 08:23 PM »
Hey, I had the same problems. There are two solutions for the problem. 1. Lower the ED64 menu resolution in the options. 2. Mod your RGB N64 to output CSYNC.

I’ve done the second one. With the CSYNC mod done, you’ll get a better image, the check board pattern and the menu jumping/flashing is gone.

Hi, do you mean Saturnu‘s UltraCIC 2 for the Everdrive 64?

Greetings

You need an expansion pak (it fits in the front of the top of the N64) to play the 64DD games, plus it's needed for two N64 games (Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and Pokemon Stadium 2), it's almost essential for Perfect Dark, lots of other N64 games benefit from it, and many rom hacks won't work without it.

Also, earlier versions of the Everdrive 64 operating system don't support the 64DD games, you should use v2.12 (http://krikzz.com/pub/support/everdrive-64/os-bin/) to play them.

Also, I've sent you a PM.

Hi, Donkey Kong 64 needs the Expansion Pak too, the game have a bug an will freeze without it.

Greetings

Hi and welcome to the forum! Is your SD2SNES from Krikzz or Chinese? Maybe your power supply is faulty, the SD2SNES draws more power than normal SNES games. First try to use a different power supply and an other Super Nintendo. If there a still issues, try to contact the support over at www.krikzz.com.

Greetings

I randomly tried playing Super MARIO Kart and it just hangs at the Nintendo logo.  Other Roms seem to work and this rom has worked flawlessly in the past.

You probably made the same mistake I've made in the past when updating to new firmware ie you likely deleted your entire SD2SNES folder or reformatted the SD card and forgot to redownload the DSP1 chips.

http://caitsith2.com/snes/dsp/

You can find them at this link as Mario Kart and Pilot Wings won't run without them.

You were right on the money.  I have no idea how I deleted the .bin files.  Put them back on and all is good.  Bonehead mistake.  Thanks for the help.

I did the same thing too. :P
I wiped out the dir just to make sure I didn't have old files interfering with anything, then downloaded the official FW, then the SA-1 beta.

I just had a quick question.

So I see:
dsp1.bin
dsp1b.bin
dsp2.bin
dsp3.bin
dsp4.bin
st0010.bin
st0011.bin

but st0011.bin does not exist, only the little endian rom version. Will this matter?

Also, should I add these back?
bsxbios.bin
bsxpage.bin
cx4.bin (or is it now fpga_cx4.bit?)
SGBCPU.BIN (something to do with Super Game Boy?)
SGB-CPU.BIN (same...)

Thanks... and a super-sized thank you to Redguy, as always!  :D

Hi, you don’t need the ST-0011, the SD2SNES doesn’t support it.

ST-011
requires 54kB of Block RAM; the FPGA only provides 36kB of Block RAM.

Good news that Redguy ist taking on the SA-1. I think this will take a bit longer to implement. I have one question to the tech guys here, would it be possible to split the SA-1 core? Let’s say, for Mario RPG the SD2SNES firmware uses the SA-1-1, for Kirby it uses SA-1-2 and so on. To know which core to use, it reads the header from the ROM. Just my idea after a few beers  ;D

This is absolutely amazing Redguy! Thank you very much for your hard work! Do you have PayPal? I like to donate you some of my €uros! My brother and me brought an SD2SNES back a few years directly from Krikzz, it was an Rev. F. I’ve updated it to Rev. H with ikaris Infos. Everything works like it should! I would like to donate some €uros ikari too, his work is absolutely amazing!

Edit: My SNES is a PAL 1Chip01, modded with the RGB, CSync, SuperCIC, UIGR and the 50/60 Hz Mod! All Games work without any problems.

Where can i found the infos about the updating of the Rev. F to Rev. H ? Thanks in advance, D4v3! (i found something and hope is the right way -> https://sd2snes.de/files/RevH/ )

Hey AlxUnderBase, I used most of the infos from this thread: http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=5273.0. You can find some pictures from me and others, with the modded SD2SNES. You don’t need to mod it from Rev. F to Rev. G! Just use the Rev. H Update! Rev. G had a problem with the MSU-1 volume, this was fixed in Rev. H.

Good luck!

EverDrive 64 / Re: Everdrive 64 v1.01 doesn't Boot (Black Screen)
« on: February 18, 2018, 05:41 PM »
Could I ask you share the link to 1.28? I'm having issues with 1.29 on my v1.01 board too.

Also I have a very old arcade board that suffers similar to your pcb. You have to twist the board to get the correct colour. I'm sure it's a dry solder joint, but I have a few more ICs to check....

Anyway good luck, and if you can share 1.28 that would be awesome.
Thank you.

Hi, here you can find the OS v1.28. http://www.nightfallcrew.com/28/07/2012/everdrive-n64-os-update-v1-28-released/

Hey, Last day my brother and me had a problem too. We played Mario Kart and after a reset the display stayed black... the Ed64 is a v2.01 with an UltraCIC v2 and the OS is 2.12, we “fixed” it with an Hard reset 🤨 This was the first time this happened! The only thing i think is that is an connection problem with the connector! After this we pulled the ED64 in and out for a few times and it worked like normal.

Hi, just to complete EverDrivers post:

Hi, check out your SD card slot. If you can see a smal switch in there, try to push it to the other side. The switch is used to change between PAL and NTSC mode. Maybe your switch is set to NTSC mode.

You’ll get a Bootloader message without the SD card plugged in. The file structure must be SD:\ED64\OS64.v64. Just unzip the ED64 folder to your SD.

Edit: don’t name your SD card ED64! This causes also problems!

Edit2: does your N64 work with original games?
