I'm using the latest 1.10.3, GSU/SA-1/S-DD1 are all playing for me. I went into the sd2snes options and don't see any selection for save states. Is this a feature implemented in the latest firmware? Or is this in an older firmware? I like the ability to play the new special chip games, and yes I've heard that special chip games cant use the save state function. I apologize if this has been covered before, I'm not here alot and there have been many advances with the firmware and I'm behind in the news. Thanks!

Mega EverDrive / cannot load master system games on VA6 system
« on: February 11, 2018, 09:38 PM »
Are there Genesis Model 1's that do not possess backwards compatibility? My X7 will not run ANY master system roms. It used to on my old VA2.

I'm starting to wonder if it's because of the TMSS? Because I own a VA6, and a VA7, both with TMSS, and I'm unable to load any master system games.

My X7 loads Genesis & 32x games fine. (And no I'm not trying to run sms with the 32x connected)

I can't get a straight answer on this from anyone, but I'm starting to draw my own conclusion that systems with the TMSS do not allow playback of master system games.

Can anyone please shed any light on this situation? Thank you!

Mega EverDrive / question about sms bios with MD_X7
« on: February 09, 2018, 01:58 PM »
I'm getting my MD_X7 back from being repaired today. I have the sms bios from the no-intro romset.

My question  is, where exactly do I place the bios, and exactly how are the files supposed to be named so the MD_X7 recognizes them?

EverDrive MD / MED_X7 not playing sms roms on VA6 model 1 Genesis
« on: December 15, 2017, 01:15 PM »
I had a VA2 model 1 Genesis earlier this year, when I used the MED_X7 on it, i was able to load Master System roms on it.

I no longer have that system, now I have a VA6 model 1 Genesis, which has the TMSS when you power on the system. When I try to select any Master System rom with my MED_X7, I instantly get a black screen for about 5 seconds, then kicked back to the file menu within the MED_X7.

Is there some sort of modification I need to do to my VA6, to allow sms roms to play off of the MED_X7? (I recently sent the MED_X7 back to the Ukraine for a replacement one, so I can't do further testing till I get a new one back)

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Thanks.

EverDrive N8 / MMC3 IRQ fluctuations on N8 Everdrive
« on: October 29, 2017, 01:28 AM »
I keep getting fluctuations in MMC3 games that have split screens. This is happening to me with Super Mario Bros. 3, and Double Dragon II.

This has never happened with me on my powerpak, and it's only happening on this everdrive.

I'm using an official NES frontloader, original power supply. And I have the original cartridges of the games I've mentioned here, and I have zero issues.

What do I do? Thanks!

So ive read as much as I could find here, as to how to have proper .YML files, how to either "true" or "false" whichever cheats for said game using a laptop/pc, I know that you are only allowed 6 ROM cheats, and 20something RAM cheats simultaneously activated.

Now, I had an entire set for Contra 3 set to "true" I turned on the SD2SNES, and I loaded the game. I haven't done any button combos since starting the game, and I've noticed the cheats are active right off the bat, which I don't have a problem with at all. But, when I press L+R+Start+B to disable the cheats, they don't disable? I know my button combinations work, cause I'm still able to reset the game, or reset back to the SD2SNES root directory.

Am I doing this correctly? Am I missing a step? Thanks for reading & any help/info!

Mega EverDrive / Possible defective MED X7 (constant SD errors)
« on: September 09, 2017, 05:21 PM »
Ive had the Mega Everdrive X7 since early 2017. It appears that the longer the MED X7 is receiving power from the Genesis, the SD function will flake out. I've purchased 3 different micro sd cards, formatted them a bunch of different ways, and I still get the same result of SD errors. It is the only Everdrive device that does this, (I have Everdrives for Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and the SD2SNES, and they function properly)

So if I have the Genesis on for over 20 minutes, and want to switch games, this is when the SD errors begin to occur. Is there anyway I can get an exchange for a normally working MED X7? It is not the sd cards I've been purchasing, and I've done extensive tests, and this is where I am left. Is it possible to get an exchange?

EverDrive N8 / Question regarding the 512kb sram chips
« on: July 15, 2017, 06:56 PM »
I've asked krikzz a few years ago, if he would consider a revision of his n8 everdrive , to include 2 1024kb sram chips for the prg & chr roms. He told me it's more than that, but wouldn't specify more.

My idea was to see if those 512kb chips could be removed, and replaced with 1024kb chips, so my games that I created on the MMC5  (Zelda - The Legend of Link & Super Mario All-Stars NES) will work on the N8. Is there anybody here that is skilled enough, that would attempt to see if installing the 2 1024kb chips would work to support 2mb roms?

If this is impossible, meaning there's more to it than just replacing the smaller chips with larger ones, than could someone please elaborate what else is required. Because the 1mb limit is the only reason stopping me from purchasing this device.

Here is the product I'm looking at.

I'm assuming the snes classic will be emulation, and I read that StarFox 2 will be included. Does anyone think this could open the door to examining and emulating Super FX onto the SD2SNES?

For awhile, I've been using a cheap $50 upscaler with euroscart on my model 1 Genesis. Using the Mega Everdrive X7, I've been able to play my Master System games.

I upgraded to the framemeister, and when I try to launch any of my master system titles, it'll either come up as garbage, or just a black screen upon loading the game.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Mega EverDrive / Question on OS for Mega Everdrive X7
« on: April 02, 2017, 06:37 PM »
My Mega Everdrive X7 will be arriving tomorrow. I have a question regarding the OS to obtain for it. Do I use the one that is on the page where you purchase the item? Or is there a newer version somewhere else that I should go & obtain for my X7? I just want to make sure I have the latest OS. I have a model 1 genesis (high definition graphics). Thanks for reading! :-)

EverDrive 64 / question on alt os
« on: July 29, 2015, 09:10 PM »

EverDrive 64 / Question on saves from original OS to alt OS
« on: July 11, 2015, 03:58 AM »
I have created save files from the 2.09 OS for the Everdrive 64. They end with extensions .eep .fla .sra

I want to switch over to the alt OS found here in this forum. But I tried simply copy/pasting my saves from the old OS, into the new alt OS's (SDSAVE) folder on my SD card.

When I launch Goldeneye, it doesn't recognize it.

Please tell me I can retain my old saves, and if it's simple as renaming the extensions to the names I just gave?

Thank you!

EverDrive 64 / Mario Kart 64 & Saving
« on: July 09, 2015, 02:36 AM »
I have the everdrive 64 v3. The device has been able to save my progress to the SD card, with games like Super Mario 64, & GoldenEye.

I've been playing Mario Kart 64, and to my knowledge from ages ago, this game saved your course times to the cartridge. I played the mushroom cup and won 1st place. I goto DATA, and it shows nothing, no saves information is there.

Is there a reason why Mario kart 64 is not saving to the SD card? Is there a specific save setting I need to set?

Please help! Thanks! :-)
