Sonic and Ecco, Ecco 2 CD - run slow / choppy

I've tried multiple image files, single .bin/cue and multiple, different regions - but get the same issue of real choppiness to the point that the games are unplayable.  I'm on a CDX and not sure if that is making a difference?

Are you using the latest firmware? Do you have another SD card to try?

Hello again. Yep latest firmware and I've tried a couple SD's though both are Sandisk Ultra SDHC cards.  FAT32, MBR. I tried messing with different allocation sizes also but get the slowness.  Some games also freeze on black screens after the intro.  I'm going to dig out a fat MD model 1 to test the cart out on.

Try using exFat instead of Fat32 to see if that helps. The Pro supports exFAT

I’ve got the same problem with the newest update, I’m using a mega sg

Going back to 4.7 the issue disappears

@gware - thanks for the advice.

Really interesting results - Sonic and Ecco both work far better, but there's still some choppiness in the latter.  Popful Mail now boots and works fine. Battlecorps still goes to a black screen.


Will try exFat and will soon borrow an old MD Model 1 to try also.

All the games I had issues with worked fine on a Model 1 Mega Drive - so it looks like this issue is specific to the Sega CDX.
