Save state with Mike Tyson's Punchout
« on: August 06, 2014, 07:31 AM »
I showed my brother my N8 tonight and I told him to try any random game of his choice so he chose Mike Tyson's Punchout. After 5 min of explaining that what he's playing is not emulated :) I told him to press the save state key combo but the screen didn't flash like it usually does. I exited and tried the next game in the list (millipede) and it worked perfectly. But when we went back to Mike Tyson's Punchout it didn't work. We tried a few different versions but still no luck. I'm wondering if this is a known problem or if something is wonky on my N8. Can someone else try save states with Mike Tyson's Punchout and let me know if it works?

Not all mappers support save states.

Just thought I should mention that you can tell if a game supports save states by selecting rom info, if you see "+SS" after the mapper number then save states are supported. Mike Tyson's punch out just shows "Mapper:9"

This was back in 2014. Is this one going to be addressed at some point or it a limitation of this flashcard ?

It's just that I really want to go through this game again...and saves are important...  My Retron 5 lags too much for me to play it and that is why I picked up a N8

Thanks !
