Mapper 90?
« on: May 16, 2015, 03:54 AM »
Ever since I got my Everdrive N8 I've been enjoying some great titles but, is there a possibility that there will be support for mapper 90 (required by Super Mario Wolrd for NES)? Thanks

I don't known if it helps but FCEUX emulator support mapper 90. Maybe it can be ported from source.

I wouldn't count on it.

....And I see people still are STILL mislead in believing that lame ass excuse from 2006 that Disch gave. *sigh*
Welcome to 2015 people and Mapper 90 has been completely documented and is not harder to implement than mapper 5.

If I were Krikzz I would use the NEStopia, FCEUX and MESS sources along with Kevtris's documents on it to implement it.

Yes, but ported to FPGA VHDL. Perhaps someone in the NES hacking community (NESdev, Romhacking.net, etc) can help with porting some of the more complex mappers, instead of not implementing it at all. I see this question gets asked all the time here, and obviously will continue to do so. Most of the pirates on mapper 90 (along with mappers 116, 121, 123, 187, 209, and 211) belong to Hummer Team, whose pirates are of surprisingly decent quality (by pirate standards, of course :D) and are worth playing. A lot of other mappers like Mapper 83, the Cony Soft mapper, is not worth implementing.

oh I am sorry Krikzz, I thought you won't make anymore updates for Everdrive GG and Master Everdrive.
Mega Everdrive v.1 update is not ready yet, I guess?
Everdrive N8 would be awsome, what improvements could we expect?

Cool, Krikzz!  ;D I hope new features in OS updates do not require hardware upgrade like DSP module when you only got DSP1 chip inside SuperED v2  :o

Are there any plans to address expansion audio correctness in the next N8 update?

Hopefully we can have a soft reset without pressing the reset button again.

To reiterate what Krikzz has already sain in this very thread:

I have nothing to say in terms of news. I did not look at this mapper yet
I will not release a lot during this summer, but i will back to active work in the end of summer

Summer has barely started, people.

As with anything else, pestering someone about something they've already commented on many times doesn't help get what you want any faster. You can't tell me that your N8 is just sitting there not being used because it doesn't support this mapper...you've got hundreds, if not thousands, of other games you can play, so go play!  ::)
