4 - Options - Toolbox - Save game ram to SD

this step not needed

For eeprom games , Mega ED X7
auto copy save to sd card on soft reset

by use "ram to SD" option
you replacing your current save with blank SRAM data on Genesis/MegaDrive
ultimately erase your save file

Thank you! I will check, but I recall that at first I wasnt using that copy to / from SD function. I think I started to do it because saves were gone... I will check.

My situation is even worse. None of the games that use eeprom or sram save on my X 7, I save the game and turn off power, come back a few days later and the save is gone. Sonic 3 for example, I save and then come back 24 hours later and the windows says ''NEW''. I've gone ahead and checked nearly all RPG's that use sram and eeprom and they can all save by using the save state feature on the SD card, it's only Megaman The Wily Wars and Wonderboy In Monster World that can't be helped. If my back-up battery is flat i'm not opening up the cart and spending money on buying and installing a new one, i'd rather live with the cart the way it is. Opening it risks wrecking it beyond repair especially when you don't know what you're doing.

If you really don't wat to get the battery replaced, always go back to menu without power cycling the system, then manually backup the save using the OS menus.

I think it's better solution getting the battery replaced, it's very easy after all, you will have a harder time finding the correct battery.

It doesn't save doing it manually either. As long as the save state feature works, i'm happy though.

Congratulations Burt! Looks like you won the bid.

I agree just use an original Wonderboy In Monsterworld cartridge and problem solved. Lucky I have two of them, 1 boxed and 1 loose cart.

One day we will solve the mystery of why eeprom save games are not saving on X7.

Most eeprom games are working for me, including wonder boy in monster world (I suspect NBA Jam is problematic, but I heard some real carts are too). Did you update recently? That erases the saves if they are still on the card.
