Got my GB X7 today. Having a strange problem: cannot get the OS to load on a Gameboy Pocket. I tried on two separate systems but only got the "censured" Nintendo logo at boot. Everything loaded fine on a Gameboy Light and Gameboy Advance.

Am I overlooking something here? ???
censored as in, black thing that happens when you don't have a cartridge inserted?
that pretty much means it is not detecting cartridge, maybe blow in the cartridge slot or something, make sure it's properly inserted..
if it's working in the gameboy light (which is the pocket with added light, the light sucks the battery even more than the pocket) i would say it's something wrong with your pocket...

Exactly my thoughts. I'm going to keep trying here, but I still haven't had any success. The two Pockets I tested it on are otherwise 100% functional. Has anyone else been able to load on a Pocket? Both of mine are stock, by the way. Strange.
Thankful for Everdrive. ED64 v3, EDGB v1.3, EDGBA X5, EDGB X7.

Tested and works fine on my gameboy pocket.

Thanks for checking. Just tested on a third Pocket and am having the same result. Clearly the issue is not the GBP but either my SD card or Everdrive. Will keep trying!

I will say, I am genuinely confused since it loads fine on my Light but not any of my three Pockets...

Could it be the batteries? try good quality AAAs or the power adapter if you have it.

would love to know if we can use it with poke stadium 1 and 2...
and if like the previous everdrive the last rom is retained in the memory and can be launched by not having a micro sd card inserted
seems to be a very cool small feature
how does it look like in super game boy.. does it support all functions for example borders and color in SGB
Test it (or someone who had the new EDGB X):

I've got three X7 carts here at the moment - 2 give the black logo as shown with or without sd card, one works!
working serial is 003F, other two are 00BE & 0065
All pass on board diagnostics

Could you make the hi-res pcb photos of working and not working cart?

the soldering looks nice and professional. ^^
hopefully the bga solder joints don't crack over time if the switch is so near to it and pushed hard trough the cover.
on the other side, under the pcb should be no space - so the pcb shouldn't flex much.

Have you tried the pocket via the ac adapter?

Seems like it happens due the specifics of power circuit of gb pocket, it take lot of time to rise from 0 to 5v. On GBP (MGB-001) power rise from 0 to 5v at 35ms, approximately, but on  GBC (CGB-001), for example, it takes just around 5ms. I just tested 50 carts and 3 of them not working with my pocket. Seems like in such conditions fpga refuse to load configuration from internal memory. I tried to reboot fpga manually, after than power switched on, and it works.
