SD2SNES MSU-1 Games Sound FIX on Analogue Super NT
« on: February 12, 2018, 01:27 AM »
I was originally having trouble with my SD2SNES on my new Analogue Super NT.  MSU games would play, but there would be no sound.  After two days of searching I was finally able to troubleshoot the problem.  In order for the sound to play correctly you need to go the the Audio Menu of the Super NT and enable "Cartridge Audio Enable".  This fixed the problem on my next play through.  Hope this helps a few people out there.

This is why you must always read the instructions and watch the reviews.  :P ;)

Thanks for the tip! My apologies for necro'ing an old thread but this reply seems appropriate for this thread. I ran into this same issue and despite the MSU-1 games testing fine on bsnes on my computer I could not get any music out of the SD2SNES on the Super Nt with enabling Cartridge Audio in the menu. The issue turned out to be with the latest v4.6 of the Super Nt's firmware.  After installing v4.5 (my Super Nt came with v4.6) the music in MSU-1 games is now playing just fine.

Hopefully this post saves somebody else hours of troubleshooting/wondering if they got a bad SD2SNES cart.

Okay, sorry for any confusion. I see one of two issues here. Either the Super NT is not playing the audio through the cartridge port, or there is a bug with the SD2SNES.

Could someone test the new firmware with a Super Gameboy?

If Super Gameboy audio works, it is an issue with the flashcart. If SGB audio doesn't work, it's a firmware issue. And yeah, you need to enable cartridge sound obviously...  ::)

Unfortunately I don't have a Super Game Boy anymore but I saw this morning that Analogue released v4.7 of the Super Nt firmware and have confirmed that cartridge audio works with the MSU-1 enhanced games on my SD2SNES.   8)
