Confused on how to run MSU-1 games?
« on: March 27, 2018, 01:10 AM »
I believe to have ontained a pre-patched version of Contra 3 from EP. When I load the .sfc file, it's all the same cartridge sounds, I do not notice anything different in CD quality sound, different soundtrack?

This is my folder structure in the ROOT directory

Favorites
MSU
sd2snes
Super Nintendo

Within the MSU folder i have...

Contra 3 The Alien Wars

And inside that folder, are the following files...

My firmware version says 0.1.7e

Thank you for reading!

It seems like the ROM folder is set up for soft-patching (it contains a *.bps patch file). So it contains an unpatched ROM alongside the patch file.
You could try patching the c3taw-msu1.sfc with the c3taw-msu1.bps using a BPS patching tool.

Turns out it was a renaming issue with the .sfc file. Got a bunch of MSU-1's working now, pretty incredible stuff! :-)
