[FIXED]Tales of Phantasia random freezes since 0.1.7d

Can anyone play this game (translated) in 1.8.0?

Game freezes randomly at the intro.

If I skip the intro it seems that the game is playa ble. But crashes in combats.

Game was working well on 0.1.7c

It's working fine for me on both 1.8.0 and the beta SA-1 firmwares.

work fine for me on both 1.8.0 and the beta SA-1 firmwares.

no problem with intro wth dejap patch

i ran intro 10 times no freeze

double check your mod on sd2snes again

Thank you for your anwsers.

I've tested JAP rom and the issue is there... no changes.

Strange, because this game had issues reports in the past and now is the only (compatible) game that doesn't work on my cart.



GSU, MSU and SA-1 games are fully working.


UPDATE: in 0.1.7c is working with no issues.

Ok, it seems there are some random access wrong into sram in my cart.

Disabling sram monitoring with an MSU empty file called "your_rom_name.msu" solves the issue.

Thnks to ikari for the tip.

I hope it will be fixed in next releases for people who have "slow" carts...

Could it be that the game using ExHi-ROM is what makes it problematic?

No, chrono Trigger has issues too and it's a "simple" HiROM game.

I had same issues with the 96meg version of Star Ocean.

It's a ram access issue, maybe caused by a slow or faulty part of my cart. But as 0.1.7c was working I hope it could be fixed in next releases.
