The design is quite simple and free to everyone. In my opinion it's good to see some stores offering that for quite a good value.

Got you back via email. In short:
- yes. But also no problem if someone don't do that. I haven't done it until today.
- IMO, yes. FB341 is the connection to the power supply of the audio DAC and op amp.
  (on rev. G FB341 connects the circuit to 5V, which is too high - see first part of this post)

BUT i was a bit too fast. I could check my SD2SNES (it's not at my home actually), and it doesn't look like the one described in your github. I may have asked some dumb question :/

Mine is a Rev. F, but what should be a FB342 is labelled JP341. I don't know if it matters, if it's just the name that change.

I think i'll follow your github, and leave JP341 in place.

Oh, and by the way, as i could check my SD2SNES, i could see i kept the FB341 in place (rotated 90° like in the Rev. G mod). I'll resolder it in its place. Sorry for the unuseful question :/

I did the mod, everything seems to work.

One question, may be a stupid one, but I will ask anyway. Is it necessary to do the optional Rev. H HWID mod? Where the unused cpu pin is soldered to ground? This is the only step I did not do until I know more about it. I am also pleased with my revF after installing the Borti mod-board. It is nice not having to do two separate PCM volume levels (for emus and sd2snes).

Afaik for future firmware versions the HWID mod should serve the purpose of the SD2SNES recognizing itself as a Rev. H (or above) board and disabling the MSU1 volume boost option in the menu. But it doesn't do anything (by now).

As you could read above, it seems that i ddi this mod successfully about 2 years ago.
Today, i wanted to play a MSU game and the MSU sound is very low and noisy.
Trying Super Mario World, the FX sounds are normal, but the MSU BGM is so low i can barely hear it.
Trying Donkey Kong Country 2, the music is very noisy, and low too.

I'm pretty sure i played them well before.
What could have gone wrong ? A bad solder ? I reworked all the soldering job today.
I'm pretty sad it's not working now :/ The normal games seem to play as expected.
Any tips are welcome.

EDIT : i had firmware 0.1.7b, already with issue. I upgraded to 1.10.3 but the problem is still here.

If the volume is too loud just turn the audio boost off, I had the same issue with Castlevania Dracula X MSU which used the PC Engine OST, you could pretty much not even hear the SFX until the boost was turned off.

Get borti's board off,and clean everything up,then try the sd2snes again.
Then i should solder back the board in.
Or it must be broken or some shorts you,could be that if a short happenend it damage something.
I soldered also that board in,bust i sold my sd2snes for an sd2snes pro.
But i w ill try first without and get in back in.

It should be a bad solder after all (even if it worked before).
I desoldered the board. And as expected, it went wrong and pad got off.
But i finally could fix the whole and it works well now.

Or buy a MISTer,its the best thing i buyed in years,play neo geo-snes-nes-megadrive-sms-game gear-gba and gb-gbc-mega cd-pc engine-amiga-atari st-c64 ect...
Pc engine cd is almost here,and they are working on psx,but i think that will be next year,its really nice.
Sd2snes pro is good,it have a few more features,like the msu1 for sa1 games.
But after all i would spend money on MISTer then on sd2snes.

Test your MSU1 games with BSNES or with the latest SNES9x (links below). They give an accurate representation of MSU audio levels when compared to an SD2SNES with your mod or with a Rev. G onwards. If they sound the same then that's how the PCM audio was set. Not everyone who released audio for MSU hacks has an ear for audio balancing. The PCM packs (and patches) could also have been updated since you first downloaded them, so it's probably best to check the release articles on Zeldix for updates.
