Error 0xF0 (NOT SOLVED)
« on: November 14, 2018, 06:01 PM »
Hi guys, it’s my first time posting here, and I tried searching for an answer for my problem, but had no success finding it.

I have an everdrive 2.5 with the latest os, a sandisk 16gb SD Card (I’ve also tried using other sd cards and got the same mistake).

I can load the games, but I can’t save them while reseting, I always get the same error for all rooms:

Error 0xF0

FAT SYSTEM ERROR

Can someone please help me?

Did you format the SD card to FAT32?

Please use only FAT32.
Please try to use another SD card.
It would perfect if you use a new one.

Could you please make a photo of the SD cards that didn't work and upload it here?
Thanks!

Yes, the SD card needs to be formatted to FAT32 for the Everdrive to read it.

Don't use the Windows built in format function to format anything to FAT32, instead use a third party program, because for some reason Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to change the FAT32 layout in Windows' built in formatter, meaning that lots of devices (the Everdrives included) can't properly read SD cards that Windows has (supposedly) formated to FAT32.

This is the program I use to format things to FAT32:

http://www.verbatim.com/index/search.php?words=fat32+tool

it's free, it doesn't need to be installed, and it does the job perfectly.

I tried both FAT and FAT32, And I always have the same screen.

They have tried FAT32, since no one else has mentioned it, sometimes the SD Foundation's official formatting tool can resolve issues (make sure to select FAT32 of course):

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

The Everdrive 64 can also have read problems if you delete files and copy new files over, it is slightly annoying but anytime you need to delete something it's safer to copy your files off, format and re-copy.

I would also try formatting with http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/guiformat.exe . It works for Nintendont which I had awful trouble with getting a 64GB SD card to work...

Ok, I tried with All 3 formaters suggested, none have worked.

I bought a Sandisk 16gb when my ed64 arrived, and also tried with an older 4gb micro sdhc from kingston. Both get the same mistake when reseting.

Hi, the best tool I know, to format SD Cards and external hard drives, is “h2format”. Try this one and maybe you’re lucky. This tool always worked for me. Another tool to try out is the “HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

Good luck!
